Crash & Event Data Recorder ("Black Box") Downloads and Interpretation
More than 90% of GM's vehicles from 1994 to present and selected Ford vehicles from 2000 to present utilize the airbag control module in the vehicle to record:
- Delta-V (crash severity) - only information recorded by Ford modules
- driver seatbelt use
- pre-impact data such as:
- vehicle speed,
- engine speed,
- braking,
- throttle position.
Our Crash Data Recorder (CDR) certified engineers use the Vetronix CDR system
to download and interpret the stored EDR data. This information is
used to support and supplement our Accident Reconstructions.
