Product Liability
Often a process or material failure leads to injury. This can be often structural in nature, resulting from inadequate material or workmanship. Sometime, a defect in the safety equipment will contribute to a catastrophe.
Some of the matters we have investigated include:
- chair collapse - the manner in which the plastic chair was moulded was in question.
- ladder collapse - the workmanship and adherence to safety standards were at issue.
- recreational device - which used inferior material and lead to a spontaneous collapse.
Over the years, we have been involved in hundreds of failures of every imaginable component or process which has lead to financial loss or injury. Each instance of irregularity is investigated from the portions of the puzzle which remain (ex. the failed part) and using witness statements and other information, how the accident occurred can be pieced back together. Then, it is possible to determine not only how the accident occurred, but what steps could have been taken (including other construction methods, for example) which would have eliminated the possibility of the failure in the first place.
